The Community concert Band, directed by Pete Jacobus and Gordon Woodrow, performed at the amphitheater Sunday, July 23."It took us four or five years to get it started because all we did was talk about it," said Jacobus. "It was finally the right time to make it happen."Read more in Community

7th annual Iowa Sales Tax Holiday

The 7th annual Iowa Sales Tax Holiday will be held Friday and Saturday, August 4 and 5, 2006. Iowa businesses will not charge sales tax, including school and local option sales taxes, on sales of qualifying clothing and footwear with a selling price of less than $100.00. Read more in Community

Glenwood 9-10 Girls battle adversity take 2nd place in River City Softball Tournament

Two teams from Glenwood participated last week in the 9-10 year olds River City Softball Tournament in Papillon NE. The tournament comprised of 11 teams from Papillon, Plattsmouth and Lavista NE as well as teams from Carter Lake Iowa and Glenwood . . . more inSports.

K-6 Students Wanted!

 
Students who were in grades K thru 6 during the last school year are requested to assist teachers in a graduate course.
 
Students are needed on August 9, 1:30 - 3:30 at Northeast Elementary.  Teacher participants will be working with students in the area of mathematics.
 
It is necessary to register students as there are a limited number of spaces per grade level.  To do so, contact Colleen Confer at 527-5504 or cconfer@aea13.org by August 4.
