Mills County Storehouse

I'm sure you've driven by and seen the stacks of things in front of the Mills County Storehouse. You may have even deposited things there. But what happens to these items?

Several times a day items are taken from outside the store and placed inside. Items are then sorted based on if it can sell or not. Clothes that cannot be sold are placed in a shed behind the storehouse and picked up by American Clothing who then pays the area 4-H clubs 1 cent per pound.

Money made by the Storehouse has been used to help over 240 families within the last year. By meeting an income guideline, volunteers deliver a carload of food and personal care items. This is intended to be a quick fix solution for families in need. Not an ongoing solution.

The storehouse is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Although Christmas is over, there are still families in need. Donations can be mailed to:
