Glen Haven is just that, the Haven for all seniors in Glenwood. Glen Haven opened it's doors in 1964, and has been taking care of the elderly of the Glenwood community ever since. The nursing home offers treatment of those who need assistance in Glenwood, with medication and nurses on call 24 hours a day.

Recently, June 1st 2004, Linnwood Estates was complete and the assisted living facility was born. About twenty-one seniors live at Linnwood now, with the capacity for 33 residence at one time (With twenty five rooms, and eight of them with the capacity for two tenants). With a full time activities coordinator, they are continually keeping our seniors active with fun activities. They have weekly church services, go on shopping trips and out to dinner. Area Youth groups come on a regular basis to participate in activities with the seniors. Linnwood Fridays feature community coffee in their spacious dinning area. A fire pace in the beautiful great room allow the seniors to enjoy a relaxing surrounding and one another's company. Linnwood also offers a formal dinning area that the seniors can reserve for special occasions.

Currently at Linnwood, they are compiling a cookbook with the seniors and the staff, which will be released over the summer (for more information, contact Linnwood Estates at 527-1035). On the 13th of May, Linnwood will hold a Senior Prom for Glenwood High School Seniors, with dancing and a steak dinner, while Linnwood's Seniors help out. And in honor of Mothers day, on the May 14th Linnwood will have a tea party.

Glen Haven will also have a Mother-Child Reception for residents and family on the 13th of May. On the 27th of May, at Glen Haven, will host a Family Barbecue, with the performance of Yesterday's Wine, a local band.

Linnwood is currently the only assistant living facility in Glenwood and Mills County. With all these exciting activities, who wouldn't want their seniors here? It'll keep them active while letting them rest, always keeping their minds going while still interesting them.
