Consilience, the unity of all knowledge, is the goal
of Glenwood’s new private institute, AMT Family House
of Learning. Charles Ingham, graduate of Utah State
University, with the help of his family, is
introducing a new way of educating people to our
town.
Ingham has purchased the building once occupied by the
Girl’s and Boy’s Town, and he intends to use it to get
people of all ages interested in learning. The Ingham
family will offer a variety of classes around a
wide-range of topics.

When the facility opens in October, community
residents can call the Family House of Learning to
schedule classes of interest. Topics will include
robotic engineering, where students will learn to
design and build modules like the ER1, a lap-top
controlled four wheel vehicle with the ability to
visually recognize objects, such as dollar bills and
faces.
Other classes will include health, nutrition, and
geneology. Computer training will also feature courses
in Microsoft Excel, Word and other programs. As a
former photographer, Ingham plans to offer classes in
the latest graphic technology and digital photography.
The facility will also boast an extensive research
library. Future plans include presentations for
schools and other groups to help build interest in
science.
Ingham intends to focus on youngsters, helping them to
feel good about learning. “More can be accomplished by
love than anything else,” he says.
So do so. Schedule an appointment for you and your
family, about anything your interested in, get down
there and learn.
